Meeting in the Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia
On November 28 in the Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia the CTUA President Eduard Tumasyan hosted Susan Flocken, European Director at European Trade Union Committee for Education (ETUCE). The Committee affiliates 132 education unions from 50 European countries uniting 11 million members.
The meeting was attended by CTUA Deputy President Boris Kharatyan, Chairman of the Republican branch union of trade union organizations of education and science workers of Armenia Grigor Garibyan and Head of the CTUA Training Center Elen Manaseryan.
E. Tumasyan introduced the guest to the structure of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia, B. Kharatyan presented the priorities of the CPA.
In his speech G. Garibyan touched upon the cooperation of the Republican branch union of trade union organizations of education and science workers of Armenia with the European Trade Union Committee for Education, noting that ETUCE innovative ideas and working methods are of great importance for the branch union.
In response, Mrs. Susan Flocken spoke about measures taken to increase the profile of trade unions among the youth in the field of education, so that they are interested in the work of trade unions and seek to join them. She presented the details of the project being implemented in this direction.
The issues of possible cooperation and effective use of the experience of the European Trade Union Committee for Education in the activities of the CTUA were discussed.
The meeting ended successfully with the hope for future cooperation.
