MEETING IN THE CONFEDERATION OF TRADE UNIONS OF ARMENIA

On October 28, Chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia Eduard Tumasyan received Olga Kulaeva, Director of the ILO Bureau for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Valentin Mokanu, Chief Specialist in Labor Inspection and Labor Protection, and Nune Hovhannesyan, National Coordinator of ILO Programs in Armenia. The meeting was attended by deputy chairmen of the CTUA Boris Kharatyan and Khachik Arakelyan.

The parties discussed issues related to the Republican Collective Agreement and the Inspection Body of Health and Labour of the Republic of Armenia.

 E. Tumasyan, while speaking about the importance of the Republican collective agreement, pointed out that the discussion of the new draft agreement has not  begun yet, meanwhile  the validity period of the  extended agreement between the Government of Armenia, the Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia and the Republican Union of Employers of Armenia which was sighed  on December 12, 2018  expires on December 12, 2019.

Touching upon the topic of the inspectorate body for health and labour of the Republic of Armenia, the chairman of the CTUA and his deputies noted that both trade unions and employers are equally interested in the full-fledged activity of this body.

At the end of the meeting, Olga Kulaeva offered ILO support in enhancing the processes of discussion and signing  the draft republican collective agreement and the activities of the health and labour inspection body.
