April 28: World Day for Safety and Health at Work
The International Labor Organization (ILO), considering the labor safety as one of the main directions of workers’ labor rights protection, has declared April 28 as World Day for Safety and Health at Work, which has been celebrating since 2003 in more than 100 countries. The tip of the day is to spread the health and safety at work, which will promote not only to protect the labor rights of workers and create healthy and safe working conditions, but also to prevent incidents at work.
Considering the importance of the protection of workers’ rights working in the emergency states, the International Labor Organization (ILO) has dedicated the World Day for Safety and Health at Work combating COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, and has published a report on “In the Face of a Pandemic: Ensuring Safety and Health at Work”.
Joining the ILO initiative, the Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia calls the workers and employers to follow the safety rules for preventing the spread of new Corona virus at workplace.
The new Corona virus pandemic, which plagued the World, obliges people to face up with health, economic and social new challenges which should be overcomed with Solidarity.
The Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia is sure that everyone’s efforts should be addressed for the protection of workers’ health and for ensuring the safety at workplace.
